Release Purchase Requisition Header or Line

Explanation

When a purchase requisition is created, it receives Planned status. To continue in the workflow, the requisition must be activated, i.e., released. Use this activity to change the status of the entire requisition or individual purchase requisition lines to Released.

If creating a request for quotation is automated, releasing a purchase requisition will create a request for quotation. The status of a released purchase requisition cannot be reset to Planned status if a request for quotation (RFQ) exists for the requisition. However, the RFQ can be cancelled and the requisition reset to Planned status. Releasing an RFQ that was reset to Planned status would recreate the request for quotation.

Prerequisites

A requisition header and at least one requisition line must have been entered and saved.
