Prepare Route Work Order

When you are about to use several objects on the same work order, it is suitable to use a Route Work Order. This kind of work order is always PM (Preventive Maintenance) - generated. If you for example have a route that has to be done with five involved objects, the system does not give you a calculation of how much each and every action costs. The system adds up the total sum for the action. If you are interested in how many hours that were spent on each and every object, use a Separate Work Order instead.

When a route work order has been created, you can continue preparing the work order. Some information is automatically filled in at generation. If you need material for the work but do not have it in the inventory, make a requisition and release a purchase order. Before the expected material can be issued the status must be set to Released. When you have the material in stock, enter the number of parts you require for the work, and afterwards you can possibly make a reservation. By creating jobs, you can organize the material lines, and also connect multiple standard jobs. If information on material and jobs were entered on the route PM Action, it will automatically be copied to the route work order.

Estimate the budget for the total operation. If IFS/Service Management is to be used, enter the fixed price. At this time it is suitable to view, or modify the work order structure. This is helpful when preparing the work on the route work order. Connect the permits, if there are to be any involved in the action. Schedule then the route work order by entering the start and completion dates for the action, and set the status to Released. The route work order can now be executed.

Before execution, you can manually connect the route work order to a project activity. This is provided that there are no cost transactions such as material and operations already entered before connecting. To use this feature you should work on a program file that has both IFS/Project and IFS/Work Order.

The route work order is used in IFS/Maintenance, and in IFS/Service Management.
