Enter Rename Part Info (Step 4 of 6)

[About Historical Data] [To Manage Serialized Configuration] [To Perform Maintenance Engineering]

Usage

Use this step of the assistant to enter information on the manufacturer for the old part number of the serial. The old serial is needed when registering details on the performed serial rename. If the old serial does not exist in IFS/Part Serial Catalog, the system will recreate the old serial automatically. When recreating the old serial, the manufacturer information for the old part number is required. Note: If the serial is already renamed using the Rename Serial assistant, the system will not recreate the old serial and therefore manufacturer information for the old part number of the serial is not needed. Furthermore, when the serial is renamed using the Rename Serial assistant it will be possible to define if history records for the serial are to retain the old part number and/or revision or be updated with the new part number and/or revision. When the old serial is retained in the system, it is recommended that you register the modification that led to the change of the part number and/or revision on the serial. If needed, you can choose to register the modification without complying the modification.
